Okay…

So, we had a long video phone chat via Skype last Saturday… We talked about my job situation. And as I suspected, that was her primary point of concern and worry. Followed by the recent events from my Birthday weekend visit – where I didn’t plan anything in any detail. She didn’t like that… Ha! I thought she was going to do the planning… After all, it was MY birthday… why should I have to plan my own birthday? Anyway, I’m not so mad anymore about the crappy birthday weekend I had with her…

I did try to explain a little better about the BofA thing… At this point, even I’m not convinced that this “offer” is real… I really want to see the contract. Only after that will I say much more about it. This is one lesson, that I should really, really remember. Never, ever, tell the GF/wife/S.O. about a new possibility until the ink is drying on the contract! I did mention that I am looking for other jobs. I think that may have helped her a bit…

We also discussed the likes/dislikes of each other. She was impressed that I have changed my laundry habits. Simply put, I don’t like coin laundry centers. If I have my own washer, then I will use it more frequently. So, now I do my laundry about every other day…

We talked a bit about visiting her parents for Christmas. I would like to visit them. She mentioned something about needing to call them and confirm the logistics. But they would also enjoy my visit, if I should be able to come. Financially, I would be okay. Since I should be paid before X-mas, travel and hotel expenses should be no issue. Just need to be sure to schedule the bus there and back. Can’t say at this point, but I would be interested in renting a car there. It might be fun. But, I will need to see how the finances work out.

I mentioned that I have decided to start using cloth instead of so much paper… I explained that the initial cost is high, but the long-term costs were very low. While I will continue to use paper during the day, nighttime and weekends will be cloth. For the first year, the costs will cut in half! The second year, the total cost will further reduce. Eventually, I want to switch completely to cloth. While my water bill may increase slightly, overall costs will be significantly lower. But before I completely switch to cloth, I want to test-run a few things. And, I would like to design a new cloth that fits more snug…
She liked the idea of cutting costs. Especially, since it’s more friendly to the environment. I showed her some of the materials I bought. She thought they were “cute…”
My first design will sport a Christmas theme. I have the basic designs done. Now, I need to cut-out the fabric and take it all to the nice ladies at the mall to assemble. Can’t wait to try out my new design. :-)
